AVDA Networking Reception During NAVC a Big Success

AVDA’s co-sponsored Networking Reception with the KC Animal Health Corridor during the 2010 North American Veterinary Conference in Orlando on January 18 was a huge success with members and guests. The reception followed the Annual Brakke Consulting Overview. Over 200 representatives from the animal health industry attended a cocktail reception at Auggie’s Jammin’ Piano Bar in the Gaylord Palms Resort. This was the third year for AVDA to co-sponsor this event.

George Henriques of Webster Veterinary Supply and AVDA’s Chairman introduced AVDA board members in attendance and welcomed AVDA member representatives and guests. He encouraged members to attend the AVDA Annual Conference in Napa, California and to become more involved in the association. He reminded members of the benefits available to them including training programs, advocacy and legislative and regulatory monitoring through access to the State Monitor Service. The reception provided a great opportunity for members to meet with one another and to encourage prospective members to join AVDA.

AVDA Associate Director, Kaymie Thompson Owen, Delivers Baby Girl

AVDA’s Associate Director, Kaymie Thompson Owen, delivered a beautiful baby girl, Annabel Lee Owen, on Friday, January 22. Annabel weighed in at 7 lbs., 12 oz, 19 ¾ inches and has dark brown hair. Kaymie, Annabel and dad Brian Owen are all doing well. Kaymie will not be able to attend this year’s Annual Conference in Napa because she will just be getting back from maternity leave. She is looking forward to seeing all of her AVDA friends soon. Here are some pictures of Kaymie and Annabel.
