AVDA proudly announces its newly elected
chairman and board of directors for 2012-2013. The directors and
officers were elected at AVDA’s Annual Meeting held in Santa Ana Pueblo,
New Mexico on April 30, 2012.
Mark Ziller of Animal Health
International, Inc. will be leading AVDA as Chairman. Mark has served
Animal Health International as Group President / Companion Animal since
July 2010 and has served on the AVDA board since 2009. Supporting Ziller
will be AVDA’s cabinet of officers including President, Bobby Mims of
Merritt Veterinary Supply, and Ben Coe of Butler Schein Animal Health as
Immediate Past Chairman. Mr. Mims was elected at the Annual Meeting in
New Mexico to serve as President-Elect for the upcoming year but
advanced to the position of President when Tim O’Neill, formerly of
IVESCO, resigned from the board in May to take a position with Bimeda.
Jeff Baker of Webster Veterinary Supply succeeded director George
Henriques of Webster Veterinary Supply who resigned from the board in
May 2012. The board appointed Mr. Baker to fill the position of
President-Elect left vacant by Mr. O’Neill’s departure from the board.
As President-Elect, Mr. Baker will also serve as Program Chair for the
AVDA 2013 Annual Conference at the
Hyatt Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Newly elected directors on the board include Clay Class of PCI Animal
Health who succeeded Robert Zeide of PCI Animal Health who resigned from
the board in May 2012; George Rasi of North East Veterinary Supply Co.;
Paula Brown of Midwest Veterinary Supply and Mary Pat Thompson of MWI
Veterinary Supply.
Mr. Cass has been in the veterinary
industry for more than 30 years and was most recently the AAHA
Liaison/Territory Manager at MWI Veterinary Supply before joining PCI
Animal Health four years ago to become the Executive Vice President.
Since his arrival at PCI, the organization has grown substantially and
continues to successfully impact clinics in the Northeast region of the
United Sates.
Ms. Brown has over 21 years of experience
in the animal health industry and has been the Corporate Inside Sales
Manager at Midwest Veterinary Supply since 2006. She previously worked
from 1991-2006 as Branch Manager and Inside Sales Supervisor at Burns Veterinary
Supply. She is the first representative from Midwest Veterinary Supply
to serve on the AVDA Board.
Mr. Rasi is the Founding Partner of
Northeast Veterinary Supply Co., established in 2004, and has over 30
years in the animal health industry. He was formerly a Regional Sales
Manager and Territory Manager at Webster Veterinary Supply.
Continuing on the board as Associate
Member Directors are Chuck Barrier of Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica,
Inc. and Robin Mease of Merck Animal Health as Alternate Associate
