AVDA Continues State
Monitor Service
The AVDA board of directors voted to continue the
State Monitor Service through Cegedim Dendrite, providing members with
access to regulatory and legislative updates from all 50 states
regarding drug distribution and drug pedigree. AVDA offered this service
at no charge last year. During that time, participants found it to be an
outstanding member benefit. AVDA members wishing to subscribe or
continue their subscription are asked to pay $500 for the service this
year. If members subscribed to this service separately, the annual fee
for participation would be at least $25,000 per company.
The subscription fee for the State Monitor Service was added to the
2008-2009 dues form for all AVDA members. All State Monitor fees must be
received by August 15th or the individual subscriptions will be
suspended. Contact AVDA Headquarters if you have questions or need a new
copy of your invoice.
AVDA Welcomes New Members

last issue of The Animal Health Distributor was published.

Support of Safeguarding America's Pharmaceuticals Act
AVDA’s Executive Director, Jackie King,
met recently with representatives from the Healthcare Distribution
Management Association (HDMA), Health Industry Distributors Association
(HIDA) and National Coalition of Pharmaceutical Distributors (NCPD) in
Washington who are supporting the H.R. 5839, Safeguarding America’s
Pharmaceuticals Act. This coalition of associations and companies is
working hard to get grassroots support for this bi-partisan legislation
that would create a single, national pedigree standard and ensure that
distributors can reasonably comply with federal pedigree regulations.

Cutting Prices in a Down Market
In periods of economic growth price
cutting is a serious problem. In tougher economic times price cutting
morphs into an absolute disaster. However, when sales volume is soft,
firms almost instinctively resort to reducing prices in an effort to
“keep things going” even if they are going poorly.
