Jackie King Named AVDA Executive Director

The AVDA board recently named Jackie King as the group's new Executive Director. Fred Stringfellow, AVDA’s Executive Director from April 2002 to the present, will be working with a new client association at King Stringfellow Group, the association management company that manages AVDA.

Jackie has worked with AVDA since April 2002 as the Director of Meetings and Member Services. She has been intimately involved with all aspects of meeting planning and member services for the association and recently attended the Strategic Planning session with the AVDA board in November.

Jackie started her career in association management in April 2002, after working in law firms and law related environments for over 15 years. She developed a strong customer service orientation while working for Westlaw, a computer-assisted research service, as an Account Executive.

She was a research librarian at the Baltimore office of Hogan and Hartson, an international law firm, for two years and was the Director of the Law Library of Richards, Layton & Finger, based in Wilmington, Delaware for more than six years. These positions helped her to develop keen management, information-gathering and organizational skills that are invaluable to association management.

Jackie has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, College Park and graduated from the University of Baltimore Law School in 1982 and is a member of the Maryland Bar.
