AVDA 2010 Spouse Events

Foodies and Shoppes United: Cooking with the Chefs at the CIA and St. Helena Shopping Excursion

The 2010 AVDA Spouse Event will be one for the scrapbooks, have your camera ready. On Monday, April 19, AVDA spouses will travel to the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) to attend a cooking demo and indulge in a legendary lunch. This event is complimentary for all registered AVDA spouse/companions. Spouses will also have an opportunity afterwards to explore the newly renovated CIA gift shop that includes an olive oil tasting bar and a chocolate tasting bar.

AVDA spouses will also be introduced to shopping, Napa style in picturesque St. Helena. Beyond the bookstores, art galleries and clothing merchants, some of St. Helena’s highlights include Vanderbilt and

Company, stocking everything for today’s gourmet kitchen from utensils to fine dishware. For the pet lover there’s fideaux, the J. Crew for cats and dogs. Make a stop at the Napa Valley Olive Oil Company for hand-pressed exotic olive oils, imported foods and other interesting discoveries. And then there’s Dean & Deluca , known around the world for gourmet foods and kitchenware of every kind. Your food IQ will be off the chart after this experience.
