AVDA Continues to Support
The AVDA board of directors met in January
in conjunction with the North American Veterinary Conference and agreed
to continue to support CATalyst Council as CATalyst colleague with a
$5,000 contribution in 2015. This is the fifth year that AVDA has
supported the Council.
The CATalyst Council is the outcome of two
grassroots efforts – Re-Branding Felix and the CATalyst Summit.
Following these two meetings, CATalyst Council, a non-profit entity, was
created that includes three distinct groups: Veterinary Medicine,
Shelter/Animal Welfare, and related Industry entities such as
Foundations and Cat Fanciers, the Media, and commercial companies. By
virtue of the open and inclusive structure of the board, these bodies
are able to represent a broad range of diverse stakeholders in feline
healthcare and welfare. Many of these stakeholders participated in the
CATalyst Summit. Working together the Council intends to make a
difference in the way the United States sees and experiences cats.

3rd Annual "The
Gathering" Reception at NAVC Recap
Thanks to all who
attended “The Gathering” reception during the NAVC on Sunday, January
18. This was the third year that AVDA held this event with Animalytix,
but it was the second year that we also partnered with KC Animal Health
Corridor on this unique event. Over 250 people from all channels in the
animal health industry were in attendance at the reception held at the
Emerald Bay Plaza at the Gaylord Palms Hotel. This meeting has become a
great networking event for AVDA members to participate in during NAVC
and always attracts the A-list attendees from distribution and supply in
the industry. We want to give an extra special “thank you” to our
co-sponsors, Animalytix and KC Corridor.
