VAM CONNECT: A New
Document Management Solution for Animal Health
VAM CONNECT, a joint venture between
Vet-Advantage Magazine, Focus Technology Group (FTG) and NoteStreamer,
has incorporated in Missouri and officially launched its new document
management solution for the animal health industry. VAM CONNECT is a
mobile and web-based document management platform which is designed to
serve both manufacturers and distributors. Both are currently
contracting for the service, and are actively getting ready for a hard
launch later this fall.
“Many companies have moved to a tablet or smartphone detailing
environment, where instant access to digital documents helps them better
serve their veterinarian customers,” says Chris Kelly from VAM CONNECT.
“We believe the CONNECT platform will save a distributor rep 4-6 hours
per week managing literature and literature requests, while allowing
manufacturers to significantly reduce their printing costs. An added
benefit is the ability to accurately measure material(s) use and better
project their return on investment.”
VAM CONNECT allows manufacturers to post literature, promotional flyers,
videos, HTML5 documents and support materials to a centralized industry
database which will be made available to their own internal sales forces
as well as their external trading partners. Product training, which is
currently being offered through FTG and Vet-Advantage, will also be
available in the CONNECT platform.
The technology runs on both Android and Apple devices with Windows 8
coming soon. “We are very excited about this industry platform. Taking
cues from solutions like Drop Box and Google Drive, we have built an
industry solution that solves the needs of both manufacturers and
distributors that will drive efficiencies and take costs out of the
supply chain.” says Jimmy Haverstick from VAM CONNECT. “We also
recognize the need for the data to be secure, and have made significant
investments in that regard.”
VAM CONNECT will select a permanent location in the KC Animal Health
Corridor in 2014.

New Publication: Getting the Most Out
of CRM: Best Practices for Wholesaler-Distributors – Mark Dancer
Experienced wholesaler-distributors say CRM (Customer
Relationship Management) is fast becoming a standard practice. More than
that, it’s becoming an essential tool for managing a high-performing
distribution sales organization.
By following the sage advice offered by
CRM-experienced wholesaler-distributors in Getting the Most Out of
CRM: Best Practices for Wholesaler-Distributors—a brand-new NAW
Institute book by Mark Dancer—you will avoid common mistakes, overcome
predictable challenges, minimize frustration and disruption, and achieve
more targeted benefits and faster business results. This book provides a
soup-to-nuts planning framework, best practices from leading
distributors, and ready-to-implement management tools for engaging your
leaders and salespeople.
CRM can help wholesaler-distributors because CRM
fills a void. Automation tools are common in all other aspects of
running a distributor’s business, but they are sorely lacking in the
sales organization. When aligned with an effective strategy and deployed
with thorough planning, CRM will deliver data-driven business results.
Increasingly, CRM is becoming necessary to stay competitive and improve
profits. In the long run, CRM will be instrumental for distributors to
survive and thrive in today’s economic environment.
